Our Lead Therapist

Alison Edwards FMBPsS, is a qualified Psychologist who completed her Masters of Science qualification in Psychological Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2008, at the University of Dundee Medical School.​

 

Prior to setting up her private practice, she worked full-time in the NHS for 6 and a half years. She also holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology, with expertise and experience in supporting individuals and their families with ADHD, autism or an Aspergers diagnosis.​

 

In order to have a well-rounded training background, Alison also gained a counselling qualification accredited with the counselling professional body COSCA, and she has provided part-time counselling for charitable organisations for over 9 years.​

 

Alison has worked therapeutically with clients who have various mental health concerns. She has experience of tailoring therapy for neurodiverse individuals who have dyslexia, ADHD or autism.

 

Alison is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT). 

 

She is a qualified clinical supervisor, and is experienced in mentoring and coaching. She is currently working towards accreditation as a specialist therapist in the field of GSRD - gender, sexuality and relationship diversities.
